YOU MADE ME COUNT!!!!!!!
Nobody needed to know this, especially me.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

How about un-technically?

For a long time I had one board and about 5 pedals total, but decided I needed to have a dedicated gigging board (fairly minimal) and a pissing around at home board (a little more going on, plus a looper). Thats pushed me up over 11.

How many "pedals" are in a multifx unit? Or does it only count as one?

I have 10, but only use 3 (reverb, delay and compression) constantly. The rest is usually to emulate or get inspiration from, like seasoning on food. Just for a little flavor once in a blue moon.

Woohoo, I sneak in with 29! I feel virtuous...
Mind you, no so long ago the count was somewhere around 60. Had to sell most of my genuinely collectible stuff. Hey ho, catch and release.

Re: Survey: How many effects pedals do you own?
Only by default I guess. I could replace the modulation pedals with a single multi fx unit, but my stuff is usually all boutique clones of older stuff, so anything generic won't be a worthy substitute.

I have all these pedals but when play live i only use one (Mudhoney) for guitar and no pedals for bass.
