ok guys I know I have been wearing out the diplomat strat, one day its for sale, next day even cheaper, then the next day its gone up again... well on the week end I decided to photograph the neck and body, bridge etc
I found the bridge to be made from one piece of steel, the body made from two pieces of wood and the pickups to have real pole pieces instead of a cheep magnet stuck underneath the pole pieces like on many new improved designs sitting on the guitar shop wall. I have photographed the whole guitar, cleaned and dusted thirty or so years of grime from it. I have bonded with it, I found a loose wire from the tone control and after fixing it the guitar sounds like a strat again, I simply couldn’t believe the tremolo bridge to be milled from one piece of steel, when did fender stop doing that?
I guess all this post really says is the quality is really there when it comes to these old Japanese guitars well that’s the good oil anyway… the bad news is some of the wood working, the routing for the bridge looks like it was done with a blunt chisel the overall routing inside the pick up cavity is a little rough in places but over all not too bad, see pic.
So in the neck cavity you can see a H and an S
Any ideas??
