What stain or paint did you use for the black?

just the bog standard water based stain you can get from Mitre 10 - Briwax Hydrocote water based wood dye

Stain to desired colour, shellac to seal it then on with the Tru-oil. The Tru-oil costs $20 and one little bottle should be enough for a body I reckon, feels great on the back of the neck!

I've tried staining black before, but have ended up with an odd greenish black colour.
