Rad looking guitar! I had mad GAS for a similar LP but with mini humbuckers for a loooong time.
Comfortable too, this particular 'Narumo' model has a cutaway on the back. Lovely back too btw with the colour fading out a bit in some areas

Plugged
Paa in, glorious. The original open pickups are clear, articulate and handle cleans and gain with equal aplomb; the neck is quite a bit higher output than the bridge but raising the bridge pickup a bit more than usual sorts that out
Looking forward to playing the heck out of it before it goes up to
GrantB for a refret later in the year

Found the page from Greco’s 1974 catalogue that shows this model, the EG-800 is the sunburst one at the bottom fourth in from the left. Looks like you could pick up a new one in 1974 for around ¥80,000

That's how most MIJ naming conventions work. The EG is the series and the number is the price. Same for Edwards, Tokai, Epiphone MIJ, Orville, all those guys.
EG my MIJ Epiphone is a LPS 95 - Les Paul Standard, and it retailed at ¥95,000. My Edwards was the LP-92 - Les Paul, retailed at ¥92,000.
It's an easy way to let you know where you are in the food chain.

Same for some of the Yamaha Superaxes. The SA-90 was yen90,000. Same for SA75 (bass) and SA60. Not sure about the lower numbers. Need to check the brochures for their sale pricing
