They are the devil's own guitar and don't need no power or cutaway.

Re: NAGD!
Maple, I put an ebony tipped saddle in the Johnson tri I had, took it straight back out. Really gave an awful harsh treble sound. Thats why dobro players use them, dobros are mellow and sweet generally, so the ebony gives some bite. Best for national style is maple or boxwood.BG wrote:Cool, will check out when I get home I'm thinking its going to be a month or before I can do that though so I might just make a new saddle for now, I have some ebony, maple or rosewood I can use.

Re: NAGD!
Well, I have had bad GAS for a single cone for a while, and like you BG thought of going Republic but wood body, but I really would like one of the Michael Messers, they are getting rave reviews, unfortunately shipping from the UK is the killer adds $3-400 bucks.
Michael has let me know he can arrange shipping from the Shanghai factory to here for about $100, so I am going to go for it in the next few months, will work out about $1200 landed. Now the choice, a Blues or Lightning

Re: NAGD!
Yeah a little more than I wanted, these are made at the same factory as the Republics, but his quality control is a lot tighter. Been a member on his forum for a few years, so appreciated the offer. He is one hell of a reso player.
