NAD - orange dual terror

Post by maccayoung »

After what seemed like paying it off for an eternity I finally got to take her home.

Image

initial thoughts:
loud, very loud. Even on the 7 watts setting
loving the organic/raw distortion

I haven't had a chance to crank it up yet but I will this weekend!

Oh true, so you're into metal stuff, or hard rock? I've only tried a tiny terror, and I remember it's pretty low gain in metal terms, and I tried it with a tubescreamer and a rat and it didn't take those pedals so far. Is the dual terror a different beast?

Hmm, that's strange. I use my gt-10 (bypassing the preamp) with the tube screamer pedal to boost it and I found it works really well.

It has two channels; the tiny terror channel and fat channel. The tiny terror is identical to the 15 watt head and the fat channel is very similar but a little fatter sounding (hence the name).

I'm into metal, though I don't use too much gain compared to others. While I don't think the dual terror is a high gain beast, I think it can do metal just fine. It's a little loose in the distortion department (which I like) but I found putting an OD pedal in front of it tightens it up really well.

I'm be giving it a good go this weekend so I'll try and record something and post it.
