Re: Strymon Blue SKy
Score. My board is shy of a tasty reverb and this would be one of the nicest for sure

Small dredge - anyone else using a Strymon Blue Sky? If so, thoughts, especially on the spring reverb quality...realistic or digitised?

Re: Strymon Blue SKy
Have one and utterly adore it. I don't use it on Spring mode much though so I'm not really qualifed to comment on that - but I will say that it lessens my Twin Reverb sales-guilt The Room (my goto) setting goes from small roomy echo upto massive cathedral reflections depending on decay time and mix. The pre-delay and low/high tweak dials are really useful, and the save/favourite function is the icing on the cake. The actual sound quality coming out of this pedal is unequalled in my opinion - the 24bit algorithms in these thing must be stupidly complex. Admitedly I haven't tried the Wet rerverb pedal (which has a great rep) but the BleSky has killed my reverb GAS, period. Without Shimmer or Modulated settings on, even the stock standard reverb still sounds lush and shimmery... I owed a Verbzilla and used it consistently for 4 years prior to the blueSky and there's no comparison - the Strymon is just on another level.
I can't say enough good things about this box. Oh and It's also not as big as it appears in pictures, and since the inputs are on top it's actually quite pedalboard friendly. Daisy chains with other problems with zero noise/fuss.
If you live in Hams, come for a demo! $300US is quite a leap of faith without hearing something. I can tell you you wouldn't regret it with this one though. Especially if you have bunches of amps with no springs in 'em!

Re: Strymon Blue SKy
I've got a WET now. Absolutely fantastic pedal. Burg's youtube demo captures it pretty well. I thought about the Blue sky, but went for the WET for it's simplicity, size and the fact that it does everything I want. If a preset or shimmer was a priority I would have gone blue sky. If I need those I can lean on my M5.MogwaiBoy wrote: Admitedly I haven't tried the Wet rerverb pedal (which has a great rep) but the BleSky has killed my reverb GAS, period.
Both are great. I'm seeing a lot of TGP reverb-heads now have a blue sky and a WET on their boards. That would be pretty sweet if you're a soundscaper.

I don't think there is any pedal more popular with guitarists playing in big churches at the moment that the Strymon Blue Sky.
