Remember the 80s

Post by TMG 03 »

After hearing a few Dire Straits tracks on the way home, I just had to get my 80s setup out. :P

its maybe a bit too old school these days

Fender amp , 88 Fender Strat plus and the icing... A row of Boss pedals. back then there was not alot else around but they covered most bases.
its still one of my favourite setups. Think I am missing a CE2

Would the auto wah not sound better first or last?

And that's not 80's as there's no floyd rose on the guitar.

:)
Yup - that's me and my pal Steve or little stevie vai as I like to call him. In Auckland airport when I was 26. I'm not 26 anymore.

Well its sort of first after the power supply. Real men never wore spandex or use a FR. :P

I have to dig deep into the parts bin to find them all. A few more Boss pedal would help like a CE2 and maybe DD2 ? I have an ME5 here some where.

DD2 == DD3.

CE2 into a fender is supposed to be the tits. I preferred the CE3 cuz it wasn't as middy.

Does the amp have a ridiculous gain channel?

It's a Strat.

it does have a good gain. two stage gain channel . It a bit too loud this amp. but the Clean channel loves pedals.

What kind of gain? Classic or like, hi gain? Thinking of picking up a solid state amp with tons of gain instead of a pedal or whatever, just for a change.

This amp is a Hybrid type.

Solid State Clean Channel
Gain Channel has 12Ax7 tubes

I like the Gain channel for low gain classic rock. And the Clean tends to get the pedal like me Boss Turbo Distortion DS2.
There is alot of head room.
