NGD: Full Metal Firebird
Bastin Guitar aluminium neck + Hamilton steel body. Currently has a Bareknuckle alnico Warpig in it, might be ordering a Peters Amplification pickup for it.
Crazy resonance, very loud acoustically. Doesn't sound quite as good as my full aluminium EGC build, the steel body doesn't sound as "wide" and "lush" as aluminium. But considering the price I'm fairly happy about it, costed me way less than what a new EGC build goes for nowadays.
Amps:
Soldano SLO100 x2 | Wizard MC1 & MC2 | Diezel Herbert
Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A
Rack stuff:
VHT/Fryette GP3, GP/DI & 2/90/2 | Peters FSM/Chimera
Verellen Meatsmoke | Synergy SYN1 | Mesa Studio

That is cool. Would brass saddles help to open it up? Be brighter though.

That's wicked! As people can probably tell from my collection I'm into using vintage shapes for metal stuff
Where did you source the body and neck from?

Re: NGD: Full Metal Firebird
It's bright enough as is. It just doesn't seem to have the deep lows of a full aluminium build so it's more "twangy/bitey" than "deep/lush". Would the brass saddles bring in a bit more lows as well?GrantB wrote:Would brass saddles help to open it up? Be brighter though.
From the respective builders, however neither of them seem to be doing much lately.sirvill wrote:Where did you source the body and neck from?
However EGC is doing a run of bolt on necks currently, might be worth shooting them an email.
Yeah 25.5" scale. Would love a baritone neck but seems like no one makes it.Kris wrote:Thats super fucking awesome mate-mostly cos i love firebirds in the first place! standard scale?

Can it be fixed with an EQ pedal?godgrinder wrote:It's bright enough as is. It just doesn't seem to have the deep lows of a full aluminium build so it's more "twangy/bitey" than "deep/lush".
