NGD: Takamine 12 String

Post by vintage52 »

Hasn't actually arrived yet - only won it this morning.

I have the same model in a 6 String.

Matt of post rockshop now Boss fame convinced me I should keep my 6 string and get it sorted properly and it's a damn awesome guitar.

I'm sure the 12 will be just as good if not more Choral!

TAN16C-12

Not sure what year but my 6 string TAN16C has no fret board markers which ascetically make it quite pleasing to the eye.

I've always wanted two cars of the same model, same year....at least I get a sort of similar model in my guitars.

:D

Takamine are an awesome guitar. Really regret selling a blue nylon string electric cutaway. Amplified was great.

Great stuff - I find that 12 strings are brilliant for a party scene or solo performance - they really give a big sound.
Epiphone Riviera P93 & EJ200CE, Hagstrom Viking Bass, Doubleneck bass/guitar.
Rivera Clubster 45, Carvin AG100D, Ashton BSK158.

Bit of an update.

Had the 12 for a few weeks now and it's had two outings so far in an amplified situation.

I run to a Bodyrez and then a Fender Acoustasonic Junior.

Out of case, it's a well set up guitar that is effortless to play.

Unplugged, very resonant and chimey with nice balance across all strings and that was with the old strings on there.
I've since changed the stings and now it's even more glorious tone wise.

Plugged in it's a monster. I run the amp with chorus on with my 6 string but find the natural chorusing of the 12, the amps chorus is almost redundant.

I turn the amp chorus down but leave it on as it pushes it out in stereo.

Overall, a well made guitar that lives up to expectation.

The Hotel California guitar was a Takamine 12 so it can't be all bad. :D
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
