All of that makes sense.

When I gigged I had decent gear but nothing like the amount of it I have now: One electric-acoustic, two electric (or one Steinberger), and for amps I didn't give a toss so long as it was portable and sounded good. For a while one of those Valvestate Marshall combos but mostly it was a GK-250ML. With the PA and lights and singer's make-up box there was quite enough to shift and little enough room in the van without adding Marshalls. But I only needed two sounds and the ability to make one of them louder for solos. I suppose if I was in the same band today, besides being fucking depressed, I'd have an AxeFX thing.
