New Clunker Guitar Day.
I was after an old clunker of an acoustic for my motorhome & scored this fine looking beast
for less than a fist full of dollars.
A "Gibtone" handcrafted in India - I'm not sure if the quality is the same or worse than
a Chinese el cheapo!
I couldn't play it because the strings were sitting above the zero fret.
Out with the files & down they came, lowered the action ( would have been a good slide guitar) and adjusted
the intonation & what! It actually played quite well! A bit bright because the body is only 55mm thick.
So anyway I was mulling this over & remembered that I had a pickup stashed away, so out with some blu-tack
and instant jazz guitar - well not really. I temporarily wired the pickup directly to a lead & straight into my amp.
It actually sounds good.
I'll think on it a bit more but will probably attach it permanently & add just a volume pot.
