ES-295

Post by Dano_NZ »

Hey guys just wanted to share a few pics. Its a 1997 Gibson Custom Shop, all original save the pickup spacer I made to bring the neck pickup closer to the strings.

Sounds great although not as bright as sizzlingbadger's Es-330. A thicker sound if that makes sense. I really feel as though the pickups are too far from the strings hence the spacer I crafted for the neck pickup. I played an original 50's one in Sydney about 15 years ago that they had in Jackson's. That was a far lighter build.

Twangsnarl, I might move it on. If you're Wellington-based I'm happy for you to try.

I'm not Wellington-based, unfortunately, and I suspect it'd be well out of my budget anyway. I'm after a new amp if anything; not actually playing much these days. Contemplating selling what little gear I have left but can't quite bring myself to do it. Anyhow, I'll stop de-railing the thread.

Not at all. Keep your gear sir unless of course you're "upgrading"

I was about to type earlier "that era the hollow bodies were more heavily built, but well built!".

YEp, get those P90's close!

Love those guitars, not even put off by the Killing Joke connection...

Yes I think they used a 5 ply rather than the 3 ply they're using/used on the Scotty Moore models.
