NGD: '90 LPC

Been GASing for an LP Custom on and off since years, finally picked one up.

1990 specimen, lots of dents, cracks on the binding etc as you would expect. Still plays pretty smooth though. Seems like it just had a fret re-level lately so that should be good for a few more years.

9lbs 2oz, not as light as the R series but seem to be the average weight for newer LPC's.

Not sure what pickups are in there, but the bridge pickup sounds quite scooped to me so it'll have to go. Might get a BKP HSP90.

Dibs!

Oh, and HNLPCD.

I'd really like a reissue of the early P90 Custom. Never see 'em though.

I remember Grant selling a P90 R4 a few years ago, not sure who has that now though.

Got my friend Scott to set it up in C which is basically the highest tuning I play, hahaha. The 24.75" scale won't intonate properly at anything lower than that.

That being said Scott seem to expertise in setting up short scale guitars in drop Z, Kris & many of his ex-bandmates can probably chime in on that haha.

Ive actually only had a baritone set up in B and the ironbird in C,nothing lower. I'm the same school of thought re-intonation on gibson scale, especially with a tune-o-matic, you run outta adjustment.

Frickin lovely. Would ask for dibs too but Molly beat me to it and he usually has a bigger stash of dot dash that me.

Looks great. Just the right amount of tarnishing on the hardware, yellowing of the binding, etc.

Mmmm. I'm in the market for one of these also. 90's ones seem to have a reputation for being great quality. I'm disappointed they choose to use richlite on the new ones.
