Synthetic materials might actually sound quite good and are more consistent. But it's still a weird choice. When people buy expensive Gibsons they usually want it to be made like the old ones.

I'm pretty sure they could've secured a new (and legal) ebony supply if they tried...

same on the richlite..... had one... lasted a few weeks.

Just replaced the bridge pickup to a BK Pig90, much happier now. The aged gold cover matches alright with the old hardware on the guitar.

Turns out that the guitar came with the Bill Lawrence designed pickups, I guess that explains why they sounded that way...
