NGD: metal neck LP

EGC aluminium bolt on neck + Warmoth black limba Regal body. Pickups are BKP Impulse and Dimarzio PAF Pro.

DongHua helped me with drilling and soldering. The tone knobs are dummies, just 2 vol controls and a 3 way toggle. However once we wired the toggle in, it seems to pick up more interference than when I'm just wiring the bridge pickup straight to the jack. Might swap to Lynch wiring (1x push pull vol pot to control pickup switching), so the signal won't have to travel across the body and back.

It's not as crazily resonant as my full aluminium EGC, which actually made it more balanced sounding for regular metal genres (ie the stuff that aren't post/sludge/doom metal). But there's still plenty of the aluminium 3D-ness and still exceeds all-wood guitars in the resonance department.

The BKP Impulse is a nice surprise being a Northlane sig model. I haven't heard a full Northlane song but the descriptions seemed good on paper. Basically it has a relatively flat/even midrange, without a honk in a certain narrow range of the mids, which made it gel fairly well with all my amps regardless of where the mid emphasis sits in the amp voicing.

The whole neck is a piece of CNC'd T6061 aluminium, with SS frets.

No finish, just polished. They can do anodize or imron finish but these are not available for bolt on necks.

The fret slots are CNC'd then the frets are installed the usual way I assume.

Is the pattern on the fretboard a reflection?
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

I'd presume they're glued in maybe as the tangs probably won't do the job in the ally.

Thats really rather hawt! Much weight difference or about the same?
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Yeah I think they are glued in, I can see some black stuff underneath the frets on the side of the neck.

The neck is about 3.3lbs, body is 5.2lbs without the parts. Not that heavy considering my LPC is 9.1lbs.

My full aluminium one is heavier but still probably lighter than a 70's LP? The one you posted with acrylic body would be really heavy though.

I spent the first half of this year working in a foundry learning moulding. Walked away from an apprenticeship op, but still.... Aluminium is reasonably basic, especially 6061. I plan on making a aluminium next in future.
