NGD: You'll laugh...
My plan was that my next guitar would be something different, something I hadn't played before. A Jazzmaster, maybe a Gretsch. Something not Gibson.
And what did I get?
I think I may have a problem... But fuck it, this is cool. Wildwood spec custom shop 61. I was a bit skeptical about the wildwood 'custom wound' custom buckers (custom customs?), but they actually sound great. I slightly prefer the neck profile on my cherry CS, but this one sounds nicer.
Here's a group shot:

Iv always thought id like an SG. Used to have an Epi one that I enjoyed. Do the real deal have that cranked midrange push to them? Iv never played one.

I would probably do the same with telecasters if I had the money

As an acoustic player in my youth, I had a Martin D28. Four times over the years, I went shopping for something different.
Every time, without fail, I came home with a Rosewood dreadnaught.
A gaggle of SGs......... very cool.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

If i was going to collect a particular guitar, it would have to be SG. I think you still have room for one with a maple neck

Yep, it was on TM for a while. I acquired from the truly marvellous Troy (Jelly Belly).Clanger wrote:That's beautiful. Wasn't that on trademe a few months back?

The black one is a 2013 standard. I was briefly trying to sell it, then came to my senses!
Not sure about a maple neck... maybe ebony. Think I'm sorted for now. Until a vintage PAF loaded '61 comes along...Mattallica wrote:If i was going to collect a particular guitar, it would have to be SG. I think you still have room for one with a maple neck
