Just another new old Marshall day. :wtf:

Picked up this DSL100. Seems cool so far. Given it a good hard burst and it has'nt exploded or even gone on fire yet. Theres no scorching on the board. Actually looks quite clean and tidy in there. Nice range of toans available too.

I love DSL's but the early ones are such a lottery with the floating bias :(

Its a June 98 so in the early range of troublesome ones according to the netz. The insides are very clean as though its had someone in there doing things to preserve its future. I see 4 resistors are missing from the EL34s area. Will check the numbers and look into it a bit further. Goes good tho. And not a bad clean but got the cleans well sorted with the Fenders.

There are replacement pcbs available which fix the issue, the original ones were shit and shorted out :)

Yeah it's a huge job, you'd have to really like the amp!! Shame a good kicking wouldn't sort them!

I reckon it did'nt look too bad to be fair. I reckon some of the PCB Fenders are hard work with their dumb ribon cable between the 2 pcbs. They are an asshole to work on.

I had one. It was really cool. In blue and gold, it is easily the nicest looking Marshall that I've owned.

Good tones to match looks, or mainly looks?

It had good tones. It kind of did a jtm45 clean, plexi crunch, and jcm800 and 2000 tones. But at that stage, I had a jtm45, jmp50, and jcm800! Hahahaha!

6100 is a cool amp. Too much going on for me, but it makes all sorts of good sounds.
