Re: Minimal Gear Day (MGD) Thread
My live rig is looking pretty simple these days as well.
3x guitars
1x 15 watt amps
1x multifx pedal with a couple of bits like DI's and expression pedal

What’s the Quilter like? Keep eyeing up the one on TM, tempting just as a nice ‘plug in and play’ option.KNNZ wrote:

Re: Minimal Gear Day (MGD) Thread
Quilter? I tried one my nephew's dad had on loan for ages. i did not like it that much. Just kind of okay maybe. He thought it was great, but then again he has gone from a Charvel and JMP 2203 in 1989 and playing stuff like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest to now playing a Tele and knees up country music.
Seriously though. i thought the amp was as bland as a mouthful of flour. It did overdrive a bit when turned up, but nothing to write home about. Even at full blast it did not have much volume. It was a combo version.
Re: that edge thing Sirvill mentioned. Edge needs all those guitars for tuning and the sounds his tech said. i saw the same rig rundown, which is why i mentioned it. I still think it is 90% horse sh!t. Tuning yes, but 49 guitars to play a set of U2 songs? Pffft.
I think Edge is being OCD and should feature in a double episode of Hoarders with Joe Bonamassa.

Nothing's changed. I still don't like this thread.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Well depends if your 'plug in and play' in bedroom or at a gig?Mini Forklift Ⓥ wrote: What’s the Quilter like? Keep eyeing up the one on TM, tempting just as a nice ‘plug in and play’ option.
It's great for home use. I think Bender has one too
Like digital tech, solid state have improved a lot since ages ago, but don't expect real tube amp feel because it is solid state and you shouldn't compare with tube amps...
The 101 mini head is plenty loud though, comparable to KOC and some claim it's loud enough to gig in small venues YMMV

I could play a gig with this. But It would be 40 years prior to my target audience...

That, sir, is a rather large fib
