NGDx2 and a conundrum

Post by Kiwiaxe »

Suhr (limited edition) Classic Antique HSS in surf green and Xotic XSC2 in sonic blue

Both are delicious. I also bought an Xotic black SSS pickguard loaded with their usual single coil pickups, so that I can convert either this blue XSC2 or my burst XSC2 into an XSC1 (ie: SSS instead of HSS). Pic of my burst XSC2 below to remind you of its beauty!

Trying to decide whether to make the blue Xotic the SSS (with black pick guard) and transfer the existing tortoise HSS to my burst Xotic - or make the burst the SSS! Comments welcomed!

Wow, those look stunning.

I would make the Sunburst Xotic SSS so you get that iconic strat look, and then have the other one as HSS. I think the Sunburst one would look great with a chrome cover on that humbucker if you were to leave it, but I've personally prefer the white pickguard. It's droolworthy.

I'd find it hard to pick a favourite amongst those three. No guard suggestions but would also be looking for an aged nickel cover for the humbucker.

And swap the necks, I'd prefer maple on the Sonic Blue, thanks.

I want the blue one with the pickguard and trem from the green one :winky:
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Fortunately I did sell a couple of guitars end of last year. But I really do need to move my Caparison and my white Suhr Antique Classic HSS
