N007D
As some would have seen I was dithering over getting a 7 string last week .... so after getting a $150 fine for driving in a bus lane (fuck you Phil Toss) I said fuck it I need a treat. It came strung with some fat as hell strings so they came off and it put 9-42 on with the a 52 B string
Tried playing with the low B tuning standard tuning and as I thought would be the case I didn't like it (I hate tuned down guitars...yes I know you are thinking why get a 7 string then ) so I tuned it up to (if it were a standard 6 string) F# so the thickest string was tuned to C#..which was better but strings were to stiff like that so I decided to tune to E and have a high 7th string (so and high A instead of a low B).
Now that worked great but man it messes with the old brain when hitting what use to be a D chord ... so I gave up on that and now it is tuned D E A D G B E because I have a few songs that are in Drop D so it kind of works for that.
Not sure I will be keeping this long term but it is a little bit fun
so here it is

Now that's clever; I could use that.willow13 wrote: now it is tuned D E A D G B E because I have a few songs that are in Drop D so it kind of works for that.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: N007D
its not my tuning and if it works for you but.......
so theres a tone between the top and second string? isnt the point of drop tunings to play 1 finger chugachuga?how does one do that without some miracle muting in the middle?
I'm similarly confused with 7's- tuned one i had with a semi-tone on the treble strings as we did a lot of dissonance. BEADGBB#
