NGD • 2002 LP Standard
Thanks heaps to KNNZ for this beauty, can safely say he's a top bloke all round. Slightly belated as I've had this for a week or two. Unfortunately one of the pot shafts had broken during transit, so a shout out to Chur for installing a couple of new 500k volume pots into it. A new set of control knobs arrived in the mail this morning, so I have just put those and swapped out the trussrod cover.
Right, time to get some new strings on this good looking gal
Will update with more pics and maybe an A/B against the Tokai later

I must like buying guitars that remind me of guitars I have owned but regretted selling...

Both of them look great. The Gibson is probably a touch too red for my tastes but still wouldn't complain if it was mine. Interested to see which one comes out on top after a the honeymoon period is over.
Loving it so far

Re: NGD • 2002 LP Standard
I think the Gibby will get it's leg over the Tokai in the missionary position & thus be on top

It's funny, it looks really red in some lights and at other times it doesn't. Hopefully giving it some good old NZ sun exposure will subtly lighten itStratMatt wrote:Both of them look great. Yeah, I think it will be interesting in a couple of months time to see which one I am playing more. The Gibson has it's work cut out as the Tokai is a killer LP in its' own rights. They both have the same feel to the neck - assuming it's that medium-ish '1959' profile as the Tokai is based off '59 specs. Gave it a quick schwang through the amp earlier tonight, sounds great and I didn't need to adjust too much aside from the intonation a little. The only change I'll probably do at some point is switch the current bridge out to a vintage style ABR-1
