HN335D

Post by Molly »

Last year this 335 went through a deceased estate auction. I didn't bid because I had a similar one at the time, and because of the god-awful heel repair. It went to a nice local chap who fitted the ex-GrantB Wizz pickups I'd sold him. A year later and another chap has it. The ugly heel is stable and the pickups sound great.

I can't believe the first guy left the posh pickups in there so once I saw it was up for sale cheap I grabbed it (I sold my old 335 a few months ago and regretted it). The heel will need tidying-up but in the mean time it's perfectly playable.

Congrats Brian. That heel repair doesn't look too bad in the photos.

Naaa. It's shite and the neck angle is wrong. I'll investigate it when I've time to do something about it.

Maybe. It'd be OK to leave it as is but if I'm going to clean it up I might as well correcting the angle.

Nice one Brian! 335 neck removals can be a real biatch. Looks like there's binding botches also? All doable of course...but all time and money too.

How do the Wizz sound in there? I couldn't quite get them to work for me.

It sounds very full. A/B with the SG it's a much bigger sounding guitar. Nice with mid gain.
