Graham Coxon - Bitter tears

Post by RUDENBARK »

So I've hit yet another snag with yet another song that I'm trying to play solo acoustic....dammit...

Started mucking around with this song when it came out (circa 2004 iirc), pull it out every so often to see if I can get anywhere with it.
Pretty easy song to play the main riff of, at least for the first half. But I'll be damned if I can put anything decent together from the bridge onwards; tried a few things but nothing seems to work. Which is a bit of a shame, it'd be a cracker song to finally add to the repetoire.

Anyone here that a) knows the song and b) could suggest some ideas to try?

Actually, on that track, another one with the same problem (for me) is Collective Souls' 'December'. The verses are fine, and chorus is passable, it's just that little bit between the chorus and verse that I can't seem to cover properly with one guitar.
I did manage to put something together that encompassed the rhythm and lead parts pretty well, but overall sounds a bit to clunky and doesn't fit as well as I'd like.
So how do you guys play it?
You have the right to remain silent... But I wanna hear you scream!
