What's everyone using? Any useful tips? I've installed reaper, and ezdrummer, using the HD500 for interface at home and my fast track at work, anyone using ezmix? Sounds good from the demos 8)

TG recorded with some practice sessions with this hand sized digital device
it certainly did not remind me of the 4 track

it's amazing how much things have changed.

I think the main program we have recorded with is Cool Edit Pro (??) but I am not entirely sure
have used Pro-Tools but I looked at the screen once and thought I don't want to know.

I'm not sure computers have made recording better but they sure have made it easier and more accessible.

Hey JB, great idea. I've been thinking of starting a similarly themed thread, but skewed towards studio recording. Along the lines of, for the experienced, what methods did you enjoy or prefer and for the newbies, what would you like when you go into the studio?
It seemed like an interesting thing to discuss. Especially as I'm finding out all kinds of ways to utilise the Manor for recording. But also what peoples experiences were recording at home or in the studio, that were good, bad or indifferent.

Question for now is, start a different thread or just roll with this one?

Guitar, Firebox, TH2, Studio One.

Have used BFD for a long time but lately I prefer Superior Drummer.

Not really recording much these days.

A bunch of cheapish mics. SM57 for the guitar amps. A pair of NT55s for stereo acoustic, or sometimes just one. A Rode NT1a for vox. This is the weak link - too sibilant for me.
Focusrite Forte - lovely interface. Great preamps.
Sonar 8 with all the stock plugins.

Or... for most of my demos - an iPhone!
