Guitar Trader

Post by Bluesbird »

Has anybody imported anything from Guitar Trader? Specifically, Fender guitars. I know the likes of Music123 and Musiciansfriend are prohibited from sending them overseas, but I think I recall they sent somebody a Telecaster?

BB I think you 'll find that any of those guys will send it out to you if you ask for a freight quote per Fedex door to door or to Airport. At worst you will have to arrange the airfreight yourself. You will pay GST on cost and freighting into NZ no matter which way you go.
I've done both over the years, getting a gat sent to me and also organising the freight myself. If you've got a switched on operator in the US it's a breeze as they usually send per Fedex.
Ask the questions, see how you go
Doin' that scrapyard thing.

I've imported gear from Thomann in Germany, they don't seem to have the export restrictions that a number of the american sites have.

cheers

I bet they also don't have the prices that american sites do!

Stratocasters seem to be expensive everywhere but the states.

Just thinking about at this stage anyway, not sure if I want an olympic white hardtail strat, or a 2-color 'burst 50th anniversary (both American series, maple fretboard).

In the states everyone has a strat they are the VW Beatle of the guitar world.

New mexi's are $300 or less. USA are $700 ?

You got to wonder were all the old ones go ? They must have made a zillion of them since 1954
I read they make 1000 necks and bodies per day from the Corona plant alone.

Now here you really ought to take a lesson from nature and consider that eyes comes in twos, ears, arms, legs, nipples, breasts, sisters etc. i.e. pretty good things usually come in twos. In contrast, apart from a few delightful exceptions, most revolting things come in single amounts such as IRD bills, diseases, toilets and Ben Loomis cd's.

Therefore nature is clearly telling you she wants you to have both strats and that all this agonsising/choosing is a chimera sent to amaze your wits. Once you surrender to the obvious logic of this natural philosophy you will feel pure and reborn - probably because like a babe you will have nothing since your bank account will be empty and you will have mortgaged your soul for the next millenia but we all have to suffer for our Art eh!
You can't do THAT on stage!
