Guild returns

Post by shinenz »

My Guild I swapped with my Aunty just over 18yrs ago arrived back to me today. I'm stocked, was one of my life regrets getting rid of it. She has been rather famous in the country and western scene, so it's done the rounds in Nashville, lots of recordings etc. It arrived about 20 mins ago. It has a pick up built in where the strap sits, so nothing has been altered, original.

Model number JK 30 BID

Serial JF 30 1192

From David Lynch's 'Dune' movie.
I thought they were blue, not pink. Funny how time plays tricks on the memory.

Shinez, that Guild is total win! Happy Prodigal Guitar Day. :D

Guilds never managed the mystique of a Martin or Gibson, but they are every bit their equal. Looks like maple back & sides?

To me, a good example of a Guild has always had a little more. I never liked Martin acoustics as much as either Gibson or Guild. (when I said on PB's thread that Gretch was my 2nd fav acoustic I was having a blurry moment and meant Guild). Martin always seems so bright and lightweight to me, even though they often sound awesome when others play them.

@shinenz: really nice gat btw, I bet you are chuffed to have it back. Has it aged well since you last heard it?

it's probably cause this is a real Guild.

Nice guitar man, love the case too, looks like it's seen it's fair share of the road.
