60s or 70s El Maya, my no.1 go to.
Martin D41
Early 70s Gibson Hummingbird. Piece of shit but I love it anyway. Had some dodgy repairs, and now the bridge is 15mm off center! At least I presume it was a result of the repair, cos Gibson wouldn't make it like that would they?

We doan need no steekin grandpa geetaahs...
More seriously, I have had a play on Dad's Ibanez Artwoods. I prefer my strats and teles, so much brighter and livelier.
I played a Martin 12 string once. Lovely, lovely sound, lively, felt great under my fingers, but I'm not paying that much!

Re: What Acoustic Guitars Do You Own?....Daza Is Back!!
I've been looking at getting an acoustic guitar for a while now and just tried a few in the store down the road, what do people think about the Martin DX1RAE? Was my favourite out of all the ones I played but it worries me that I just read the tops of them sometimes crack due to the top being solid wood and the backs and sides being laminate. Anyone know anything about that?
Edit: Just found a thread which talked about them a bit, still interested in the cracking thing I read though....

I think they are fucking awesome, so much so I just bought it's sister model, the 000X1AE.
I also have an Ashton D25 a/e and an Ashton 12 string which is one of the nicest 12 strings I've ever played. I also have an old 70s Yamaha g-40a nylon string and a sonic 3/4 that use as a travel guitar.

Can't remember the model but a mate just bought a solid top/laminate Martin for just under $2k. I was determined to hate it but it's an awesome playing, great sounding gat.
Just don't make the mistake of trying for a low action. He did, and it sucked the life out of the guitar.

Martin OMCPA3 - Spruce/Rosewood with Fishman Aura.
Turns out the sound i've been looking for all along is a Spruce/Rosewood OM.. only gripe is the tiny shallow frets.

Mine is this lovely Walden. Solid Rosewood back and sides with a solid Spruce top.
To me it's a great compromise between OM size and definition and Dreadnought volume. Lovely tone, lovely feel. My only issue with it is that I don't play it enough.

My go-to for quiet-time personal use is my old beaten up 68 Gibson Hummingbird. Had the slush-o-matic adjustable saddle replaced years ago with a solid one, wow what a difference. I'm wearing through the top in a couple of places, she has many stories to tell.
Plug-in for gigs I use a very beaten up '93 Yairi cutaway when I need to do a lot of lead work or fancy stuff, else a Mini Maton for when I'm doing slide work.
I recently picked up a late 60's Eko 12 string with ancient aftermarket pickup. Acoustically, it sounds like it's made of cardboard; plug it in, and she's magic, great for slide work or shimmering backing work.
BTW, I bought my wife an acoustic 5 years ago in the hopes of getting her into the wonderful world of music (didn't work) - but it's a solid top Walden, I paid something like $599 at Rock Shop K Rd, and it is an outstanding player and sounds wonderful. I can't believe what great value it is. It lives in Melbourne where I visit it every few weeks.
