He played nearly all of the rhythm guitars on Superunknown (yep) and most of the guitars on Down on the Upside.

Probably thinking of Audioslave-era Cornell? That's when I first got into his stuff, and I often used to forget that he played guitar most of the time in Soundgarden.

Yep definitely think of Cornell as a guitarist. On the other hand Washburn put out that Sammy Hagar signature guitar... I have one, and it's not bad for the low price, but you wouldn't buy it to sound like Sammy would you?
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.
