That's what mine is, 1987, and it's brilliant. The new 335 studios are a travesty though.

Beware all ye who play PB's 335.

It's an absolute monster, and enflames any semi-hollow gas you might have.

I'd be tempted to try some of the Reverend Hollowbody options, personally but then that's me.

Have a look for a Gibson ES333. They only made them in 2003. Basically a 335 without the gloss finish and no pickguard. It has the centre block. I liked mine so much I got a second one.

Used 335! or 333 if you can track one down. Under 2k should be possible.

It's not helpful seeing this thread with half of my new acoustic budget sitting in the bank.

Hmmm.

That yamaha is lovely, and the edwards on the previous page looks nice too. about $700, Are they any good?
Larrivee 00 Acoustic. FAV Strat for electric. Ibanez SDGR5 for bass. Push for Ableton. When not doing that, 3D CAD for tunnels...

I know!
My dad is talking about wanting a semi hollow. He has an LP and a Ibanez benson.
At the moment he is borrowing my sa1000 to see if he likes the yamahas.
I am tossing up between this sa2000 for him or a gretsch country classic II MIJ 1990.
He likes the idea of the gretsch. He said, ah id like that gretsch that George was using when I saw the Beatles at the Town hall! haha apparently he say the matinee performance, went and had a beer and some dinner then saw the later show. Legend.

I'd have to do a headstand to play those things and that is NOT gonna happen.

Don't forget to factor in about $200 shipping and 20% tax on top of all of them by the time GST and various levies are charged.
