It surely is :-)

The fixed neck models seem to have a thicker neck, so if that’s your thing, avoid the bolt on ones.

Wish I still had my Buckshot.

That was a cool guitar, but ultimately it felt longer than a bass and the shape just wasn't me, the whole hollow body sg thing going on.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

The necks have varied quite a lot over the years. My Club King, which I got around 2007 and is from the bolt on range, actually had a really fat neck. I don't like the necks too skinny but that one was really big and I actually had it slimmed down slightly. The first DA I got the neck felt prefect, just a medium C. The replacement DA I got, I could swear the neck is slightly skinnier than the first one and to be honest it's the one thing I'd change. I'd like a slightly meatier neck. Most of my guitars have skinnier necks than I'd like actually.

They make some damn fine looking guitars, lots of chatter on the guitar nerds podcast about them...

Slingshot I think. The Gil Parris was the most versatile guitar I’ve ever played, literally did everything. And honourable mention to the Club King 290, bought it off Dave in NP and had a Les Trem installed. Really cool guitars. If I got them now I’d have kept a number, but was in the middle of my great guitar quest so moved them on to replace with the next ‘must try’.

Had a Buckshot, Roundhouse, and Warhawk.

Roundhouse was an LP but couldn’t get low enough action.
Warhawk is like the love child of a strat and a p90 Gibson. Pretty cool guitar.

Of all, I’d have the buckshot back.

One thing is that while the Wilkinson trem is fantastic, some of the metal on it is a bit soft and I've had one of the pivot posts and one of the hex screws that lock down the saddles crack. I'm wondering if the VS100 is a direct replacement for the VS50 and whether it would be slightly better quality metal being a more expensive version. Again when this happened Ken sent me new parts from the states. I must be his favorite customer. 😂

Also, both DAW guitars I had were beautifully setup with very good quality fretwork, but there was a difference with the fretboard edges. The first one had really nicely rolled edges, whereas on the second one it looks more like a bevel, where they've plained off the fretboard edges but neglected to round them properly. It's a minor gripe though. It's still my favorite guitar. I love the range of tones. The bass roll off makes the P90 sound like a single coil and the humbucker sound like a mini humbucker, kind of like a filtertron or something. It can be fat and ballsy or sweet and chimey. Mine has ceramic pickups, more recent ones have alnico. I haven't tried the Alnico version but I've never once wanted to change the pickups in mine, I don't want to mess with it. The bass contour takes care of any 'ceramic-ness', makes the pickups sound sweet and musical. And they're perfectly balanced.
