I bought a Santana at one point. That was a nice guitar.

No. Not the buckle-rash one. I honestly don't recall owning that.robthemac wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 7:01 amDidn't I buy the Singlecut from you about four years ago?Molly wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 2:44 am I might've owned the green one (The Hulk as I think it was called) a couple of times. Re: Rhett Shills Gibbons vs PRS
That R9 is the business though so the PRS has got a lot of ground to cover to come out on top
Paul Reed Smith himself seems like an interesting chap….can tell whether I like him or he’s full of himself…,has achieved a lot though so that speaks volumes….
Gibson custom shop guitars and standards might have some flaws and supposedly PRS quality is up there, but
I liken it to a classic Merican muscle car from the same 50s era versus modern European sports cars
Classic and still popular for a reason….and like the growl of a classic Chevy versus a Ferrari….there will always be fans of both camps

Re: Rhett Shills Gibbons vs PRS
To be fair to Gibson, the recent shakeup there has certainly seen an improvement in QA from what I have experienced. My LP Special has some small file marks on the fret board which I don't mind, its hand finished after all. There is also a fleck of black paint under the clear coat on the back of the body, annoying, but only aesthetic. The parts fitting and playability are superb and it does sound really alive.
I have owned older Gibsons where the nut was cut completely wrong, the bridge was in the wrong place, the neck angle was way off etc... I think at least those days are over now.

Re: Rhett Shills Gibbons vs PRS
I didn't know it was possible to do that to a PRS!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
