NGD: 1975 Guild f50r
Well this arrived ahead of time so got a chance to have a strum and shoot some porn. (Phrasing)
Big bold and beautiful. Has to be the fullest richest sounding acoustic ive been around. Not boomy or muddy tho.
Remains articulate on the highs and still balanced. String with 12-54s martin phosphor bronzes. I have a pack of ej16s but ill save those till i get back and do a proper set up.
The nut is a narrowish 1 11/16 but I love the neck profile. Its a medium C and not at all scrawny. About ideal for me.
Action is about where youd want it, suspect its about its limit as the bridge saddle looks fairly low from prior adjustments. The truss still turns so I gave it a quarter turn to lower things a touch with no ill effects.
the guitar is used and has a lovely patina
More good news, it obviously has had a recent refret, and a nice one at that.
Heading over to Robbies tonight to do some ab with the taylor. Might get some sound clips.

Noice!

You clever boy you!
That was a teenage slowy's dream guitar and teenage slowy already had a Brazilian Rosewood Martin.
Knew you wouldn't disappoint.
Soundclips!
And that back looks very Brazilian to me..... just saying.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Man! I super dig the vibe of this thing. The double pin-stripe detail on the fretboard, the Imperials and the headstock tiara detail with binding, the paua and pearl contrasting blocks...for a cowboy guitar it sure is waxed moustaches and pearl handled six-shooters...damn, it's purty! And the patina...reeks of a grizzled ol' law-man's battle scars...seen a bit with a very authoritative stance. Dibs

Disappointed at the lack of funk but it looks smelly at least.
I’m glad that it doesn’t have cigarette stank. I remember buying a 70s p bass and the whole thing including the blue velvet case lining was just one giant stale rothmans. Took weeks of airing out and baking soda and it still reeked. Ended up selling it to some anosmic hipster

Congrats! That looks purposely glorious! I imagine it would take some vigorous strumming. I wonder how it would sound played gently.
