The bag that came with my Warwick is the toughest mofo I've ever had, so if you can bear it, you could see if the RS has anything similar available - lots of padding and pockets. Pretty much the best way is to go in and actually look at a bunch of the bags to see what suits your needs, and then you can get cork sniffy about the stitching and fabric in person.

Nah, I put the bag in a box, sealed it with tape and then forgot something in the box, opened it with a craft knife forgetting the bag was on top.

Anyways, I don't mind people dissing our products ... just as long as they don't mind me defending things that I personally own and have experience with.

Zaulkin's still on my christmas card list ... as it turns out he wants something with more padding. I haven't seen anything with more padding that the Deluxe Rockbag in awhile. I think we had something in the Ritter range at $99 years ago ... but it was $25 away from a hard case. Most people took the hardcase.

Seen lots of warwick rockbags break, fall apart, zips fail etc. My mate was biking to uni with his warwick bass in a rockbag (on his back) and the zip broke at the bottom, his bass hit his back wheel and took a little bit of abuse but survived ok.

Other than that I have no recommendations to bring to the table

I said the rock bags are rubbish, not the gator bags. I've got friends who have had their rock bags for a month and they've already fallen apart on almost every seam.

I've been dragging mine around the place for about six months now, and it's still in the condition that I got it in. Definitely not rubbish. It's not as good as as a hard case, but nobody buys a gig bag and expects it to be as good as a hard case anyway. If you're going to do that you might as well rivet backpack straps to a hard case.

I think the general rule of thumb is that a gig bag is ok as long as the guitar travels with you all the time.

IN the car, NOT in the boot, next to you on public transport and NOT in some luggage rack where it can slide about, that sort of thing. Places where people travel are usually warm and dry, too. If you're going to keep the instrument by your side, then a gig bag's ok. If not, you should get a hard case.

ive still got a fender one i've had since i started jamn the gat ,ahh 8 years ago...i think? dam i suck! decent gig bag, if you dropped it gat was mint, only ever had cheapies in it, got alot of use for a year, never failed.

The Strat I had stolen lived in a bag I got from the Rockshop 3 or 4 years ago. I think it cost about $80. It was my first ever gig bag and it was brilliant. Lots of pockets, handles, straps and really hard to mark or scratch. Can't remember what brand it was now, but it always seemed great value for money to me.

I'm thinking that it's the design of the bag that does it. With acoustic bags, the bottom of the guitar is flat and wide, so weight is spread around the bottom. With elec/bass bags, the narrow body means that the weight is carried by a smaller area of fabric (not to mention the bloody things weigh more)?

Seriously, don't underestimate the Deluxe Rockbags. Even if it does wear out or start failing, it's not going to be a ten second process.
