I think it looks awesome, possibly an idea for my next relic. I do not, however think that it is priced appropriately. Lose a decimal point, and I think it might be about right.

Some of the front chips look legit, then you see the 'hit with 240 grit' look on the back...very sad. Can't you buy an actual 60's Strat for that kind of money?

Subtle Relicing is fine imo, or its it capturing an old signature model of an artist. This is a bit too much though, and a crazy price too.

Personally, I'd love to be able to 'something' to any brand new guitars I buy that takes a wee bit of the sheen off, without adding a bunch of fake scratches and what not.

don't like them either. i don't want another doods name on my gat, no matter who it is. My fake Charvel sticker on my Allparts Strat however, that is perfectly fine.

I like relicing, (no surprise there) to me its no different then wanting a guitar in your favorite colour, its just you only want your favorite colour on certain bits, but even to me this seems a little OTT. That said, when they come out with the Pete Townshend Monterey Strat relic (2 pieces of sunburst Alder with a hint of pickguard) you know they've gone too far.

There's a Kurt Cobain (jazzmaster? Wtf would I know) lookin thing at the RS. Has very good beaten up look. The hammer blows are actually thru the finish.

There was a Les Paul on eBay a year or so back that had been struck directly by lightning. Came through the window from a tree branch, entered the top of the case and popped out the bridge area. The case was a wreck and the gat needed a bit of work (not much considering) - but what a story!
