Within arms reach...[Pics]

Post by SimpleSi »

Was thinking to myself - What guitar do I usually keep at arms reach in my man-cave/office...

I mean, I'm sitting at around 8 guitars at the moment and I always Gravitate towards 1 or 2 in particular.

Mine are:

My Custom Maton 2000DLX

and for acoustics..

My Maton ECW80C Heritage

What's your "arms reach" guitar - what never stays in it's case, is always on the stand, or leaning up against a chair or desk that you always gravitate towards and pull out and play as you wait for a youtube video to cache, or for the jug to boil, or for your wife to get ready to go out

Those are my 2

Post yours with pictures :)

my one is always my fender roadworn strat - for the simple reason if it gets knocked over or dinged - it's no problem, and will probably even make it look cooler :-)

Fender Roadworn too...so comfortable to play, and no need to cry when I come into the room and see my daughter drawing on it with a crayon...

I have an office full of guitars and basses as well, but my go-to is my Crafter ABG.

At the moment my Radian SG Jnr is sat on a stand 40 cm to my left and it's plugged into a usb lead into this actual keyboard I'm typing on because it's doing really well as my Rocksmith guitar.

The Taylor 114 is tucked just inside the door to the office so it's always easily accessible from the living space, I used to have my Epi ZW LP Custom right next to the Taylor for when I wanted quiet strumming practice in the living room but we've got family due to arrive for a few weeks so that and the Donnie are in cases up in our bedroom for safe keeping at the moment...

Always close at hand. And it has a real affinity with budget or Tweed amps. It's lofi in a very tasty way.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Current close to hand in the lounge are the Italia Mondial woody electric and Ibanez ATK300 bass. The bass is getting alot of love these days. In the music room I have my G&L Tribute tele.

I always have a guitar leaning against the corner of my desk. The last couple of months its been my SA50.

Usually only changes when a gearfest or similar event causes some guitars to be packed into cases and others to come out.

It's not by my desk (I tend to get wrapped up in things), but the Vintage LP is what usually sits out of its case by the amp these days :)

I have a cheap Cort folk sized acoustic that I keep at my flat for mucking about with. I paid not much more than a hand shandy for it and it came with a hard case. And I actually quite like it. The neck is good and chunky and it's got a nice balanced sound. The frets are fucking tiny, but that probably helps me become a better player. I'd love one of the A&L folk acoustics. One of those would probably blow my mind since I think the humble Cort sounds good. I'm moving into a new flat with some mates this year, so hopefully I'll have enough room for my amp and a guitar or two.

At home, I've got Danny's J Mascis Jazzmaster which is super cool and I'm totally going to buy one or build some kind of P90 equipped Jazzmaster after I have to give it back!

Been playing this one lately. It has just been the spare in case of broken string, but I gave it a PUP cover and new machine heads and now I'm playing it at home all the time.
