I like those tones he gets. I'm really liking distorted delays. 70s doped up faux sitar sound. I have not heard him get into sound before. Must have just lifted prohibition in his state ;)

interesting what he says about the strengthening put into the headstock neck area and the extra fret access at the other end

I like that guitar and he seemed to get into it in the demo, which is a good sign sometimes. Only thing for me is neck pup placement on a 24 fret gat is different and it is missing two pots, so i would still prefer a SG if I had to choose one or the other. For something different tho, I would want to test drive this for sure. If the volute looking thing that is not a volute actually works, then it is probably a good thing.

Pics from facebook of some kids $6k les paul custom.... nitro cracking in weird places after 3 months of ownership...

Not a fake and not 6 months old. That serial suggests either a 2004 or a 2014, most likely the latter. I've seen a few with this horizontal checking from the custom shop.
