If pinhead from Hellraiser played soulfull ballads in his down time, it'd be on that guitar.

Not entirely the full story. There is of course full depth wood either side of the channel.

Ahhh yes, but a third of it is severely weakened, hmmmm, wonder if they've ever tried putting reinforcing rods into those side bits? you'd never see it if you put it under a headstock laminate or something, hmmm...

Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!
Reading new Gibson literature, many guitar neck profiles are described as "rounded". That is of course about as much use as saying the necks are "long-ish", or have a "medium feel". So they are rounded...as opposed to squared?

my yamaha is a gibson killah at the moment though I'm about to change the strings on the lp so that will change
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!
Why waste money on strings... just plug the LP into an amp.

Not sure if my Gibson is a Greco killah or not atm.Bg wrote:my yamaha is a gibson killah at the moment though I'm about to change the strings on the lp so that will change
It feels great and it sounds great and it both feels and sounds different to the Greco, but it's not better
In fact neither are better, they both have their own thing going on I guess.
The Gibson is a bit brighter and hotter soundwise neck is chunkier but still plays great.
Greco is meatier and darker (not chambered + vintage PAF style BKPs I guess, plus the mahogany has been played in for 35 years) and the neck's nice and slim and also plays great.
Prefer the colour of the Greco but the top on the Gibson looks great. Which one to be the #1 live though? Guess I'll just have to take both to every show now. The firebird is now the Eb guitar live (sorry White Falcon but you're too much of a liability)
/inconclusive kind of pointless rant

Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!
Rant?. Nah, justification for more than one LP!

Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!
nah hadn't changed them for about a year, its about the fretboard and frets more than anything else. Tried to play it a couple of weeks ago and it just felt minging. All good now
Yamaha is pretty good though, I have to say, even the capt was impressed.
