Grumpy old man post ahead. Everyone knows this store will only be a cost. Every Gibson that sells through a "proper" music shop will be subsidising their ego driven folly of big retail stores.

Gibson is truly following their dream of being the Harley-Davidson of guitars. Nothing could turn me off more.
Personally I’d rather like to visit the store, and reckon it’s way preferable marketing expense than all the free guitars they give to uber famous guitarists, that can actually afford to buy said guitars. But maybe I’m just not quite grumpy (old) enough yet! ;)

You'll get there. Good things take time.

It's the whole "lifestyle" product thing I just am not into...but I know many are. Hence my GOMP warning.

(I will probably go if end up in London later this year).

If the future of Gibson includes Rosie Frater-Taylor, then all is well.

She can play, but I have struggled with her compositions. Gonna keep trying though.

By investing in this store, Gibson avoids paying middlemen, and Gibson's products do not have to compete for attention with those of rivals.

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

What's new? Just another big company bully.

Btw, that guy talks way too much to convey his message. Another 30 minutes of my life gone
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

The cool thing about buying old Gibson guitars is, they already made their margin, waaayyyy back.

I’m waiting for them to announce you can only ever buy a lease to “own” a Gibson. And any future growth in the value of the asset is theirs to take their share from.

Aren't they planning that?
