Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

What WAS a real treat was waking up at dawn out at beautiful ngunguru, strapping the surf boards to a jet ski and hooning to some out of the way breaks for glassy uncrowded early summer waves :)
Apparently there are other things to do in life that don't involve guitars . Who would have thought ??!

The best Les Paul I never had.

Very light. Tap it and you'd think it was hollow. Unpotted pickups. Has that 'zingy' thing vaguely reminiscent of Pete's new Les Paul:

Or maybe I was thinking of this:

Anyway, it's not a dark-sounding guitar at all. Sounds almost single-coil. Bright and resonant an' all that malarkey. Goes without saying that it's immaculately finished. Makes me sound better than I am. :-)

That singlecut looks like a core model, with the color and top. I just realized it's an SE when I saw the second photo. Those SE 245s are packing some serious tone, top carve is not far from the core ones.

Where'd you get those trussrod covers? They look awesome.
