Popped into Cash Converters today to see if they had anything cool and spotted a "Lyle" brand acoustic. Since I don't see many guitars with my name on it and it was only $160 so I had to buy it.
Google says they were made in Japan in the early 70's.
It needs a bit of a clean up. Looks like Mahogany back and sides, the back is bookmatched and has a bit of figuring (I tried to show it in the photos) and a solid bookmatched (spruce?) top.
I don't know much about acoustics but it sounds good to me even with ancient strings on it.

Re: NGD - Lyle Acoustic
Nice! My only acoustic before this was an old Ashton starter guitar so this is a huge step up. It looks like it's based on a Martin D-28 (despite having the Gibson crown logo on the headstock) and made in the Matsumoku factory.Frey wrote:sweet as. I just got an old takamine elite.
