NTD (New Tele Day)
Picked this lightly relic'd Tele up this arvo, just put some new .010's on her and she's sounding twangy...
Body is a nice heavy piece of ash, plus the neck is pretty chunky which I like. Not 100% sure what the pickups are yet, except that they're in the lower output, vintage-style domain

I think if you relic-ed out quite a worn area where the elbow area is, it would put the rest of the relic-ing back into proportion.Bg wrote:definitely yellow. oh and badly sanded. but yellow.

Re: NTD (New Tele Day)
Yes and no. The wear just doesn't look natural? It would never get wear marks like that naturally, chips on the bottom yes, but wear marks? nah. I'm sure its a well made tele but it looks so badly faked. No offence meant, but the whole point of relicing is to make it look natural, and pretty much 90% of that is wrong Still its twangy! So thats all that matters

Yeah, it's just a 'pick up and play' one that sounds decent, to my ears anyway. The fat neck is good - and it has frets unlike my worn out StratBg wrote:Yes and no. Re: NTD (New Tele Day)
I do have a tele body thats being naturally relic'd down in my workshop. Nitro black. Its basically rattling around on my tool shelves lol. So everytime I go looking for something, it gets a new ding/chip I reckon another year it will be almost a fifties custom shop model

Re: NTD (New Tele Day)
I'd have to spray it yellow, that is such a cool colour

Re: NTD (New Tele Day)
Yeah I'd go with that 50's Fender type yellow. Have a feeling it will look better with a black scratchplate, à la Danny Gatton.Single coil wrote:What would you call that colour? It’s cool as fuck.

Re: NTD (New Tele Day)
Don't know where the majority of Tele's sit in terms of weight, but just chucked this on the scales as it felt on the heavier side. 4kg, around the same as my Les Paul

Re: NTD (New Tele Day)
That’s heavy.
Mind, people pick up my tele and say it’s light (low 3s).
