Done the same...and agree. As an aside, I broke a string on the Mastery equiped Jazz the other day...little E string. Broke right at the take-off point. Will keep an eye on that.
At the off take from the string break fretboard side ? Or at the wound bit at the ball/tail ?

Take off saddle bit - weird given the design.
