Gretsch 6121

Dropped into Music Planet and tried a Gretsch 6121 Chet Atkins solid body. Nice guitar. Has any one seen one of these around? They seem pretty scarce. 4.5k. Very nice guitar.

I had the wstern roundup 6121 complete with obscene belt buckle bridge and leather belt inlay.
I bought it from eBay back when rmexxhange rates were a little better.
Great guitar. It played raw hide in a minor if you even looked at it.

This one didn’t have any paraphernalia on board. It just looked like an orange jet with gold hardware. I remember your one...I think it had knotty pine.

Agreed, nice and scarce... I just sold my 6120WDS for less than half of that and it was mint. Good luck with finding one!

ps - Strummers' one was a piece of art and the raw hide still had some blood on it too...
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

I fondled two '55 knots at Arlington a few weeks back. Of course, both with Dyna's, but none the less absolutely whacktastic. I was unfortunately missing the ticket price by a car width.

PS - is the 6121 solid, or like the original Western? Which was indeed hollow, like all Jet variants?

Yes the 4.5k price tag I guess is right for retail...second hand market the next day is another story but I guess it’s the same old story
