BNGD: Double cut, trem content.
Brand New Guitar Day.
A friend of mine (a good friend of mine) is quite a big fan of the guitars built by this particular manufacturer.
He has many; of American, Korean, and a couple of Indonesian manufacture.
He has been bangin' on at me for literally years to try one out.
The short of it is:
When the rockshop had their 15% off online sale the other day, he basically just ... went ahead, and bought me this guitar.
Yesterday, I finally collected it.
The concept of someone just giving me something is taking a while to sink in. Being somewhat morally capable, the sale/s of the dot, LP studio, RG, and eventual 12 string will go towards it (because I can't just take stuff).
So.
How is it?
Comfy. Small. Dense.
It is a very pretty thing. It feels good; the neck isn't a matchstick, and the body density is in the right place.
The short scale is a bit funny (fuck knows why it rolled off the line with 9s ) but we'll get there - I have 10s and 11s sitting at home ready to go on.
So. Here we are.
2018 PRS SE santana, in cherry. Complete with birdies.
An idiocy video will be posted once I have given it the required attention - It has curious intonation issues, and I am not playing on 9s.

Can’t go wrong with that! Congrats.

Feels good now.
Expecting it to sound good later.
It is another for the lifetime stable, along with my tele and the goldtop.

Nice guitar on stunning deck...

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

I have acquired 2 PRS SE models this year. Solid and serious bang for the buck.\
Happy BNGD!
Happy BNGD!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I can’t take it as charity. The rest will eventually go and he can have the proceeds.
It is sitting in my girlfriends room snarling at me.
Tomorrow will be a fun day.

Nice I love mine, bought new as well a couple of years back. Its the lemon stripey version. I used to reach for it more often than my Lester, mainly due to the trem - they're awesome! and yeah its a lifetime keeper.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Good score, good mate that one. A guy in a band that my FIL books for his parties plays one, and plays it bloody well. He’s like “why would anyone need to spend any more than this on a guitar? Does it play itself?”
Fair enough too I suppose

Re: BNGD: Double cut, trem content.
Yeah thats basically how he is lol.
He almost exclusively owns prs and se guitars ... he has the p90 santana and loves it.
He has a custom shop 339 and a really cool wood finished LP studio as wildcards but that’s about it. Think it’s a smartwood.

Yep, having owned the SE I don't see the need to go full blown PRS. One day I'll spoil it all and try one, but I'm really happy with the SE It's even better since a kind forum member provided some genuine prs santana pickups Though I really quite like the stock pickups!
I'm no Santana fan either, I bought mine because I foolishly tried it in the shop - I say! do you accept....... plastic?

Re: BNGD: Double cut, trem content.
I wanted a cu24... particularly the paul allender with the purple and the bats. I thought that was cool.
But all the custom ones have skinny necks.
So here we are!

Re: BNGD: Double cut, trem content.
Here we are again, with James's guide to make your guitar work better.
Step 1: lop those farty 9/42's off.
2: Level pickup bobbin thingies with the pickup rings.
3: Look how clean and new everything is, and remove plastic.
4: Nutjob - gently.
5: Circle the tiny finishing error so everyone on the internet can see it.
6: Apply strings.
6.5: Apply appropriate strings because this neck is brand new.
6.75: Carry on.
6.925: Be humbled by how clean it all is.
7: Balance trem by diddling rear screws.
8: Apply tiny long thin thingy of not the angry velcro to underside of trem so it doesn't eat the top.
(This isn't it - I used a smaller bit.)
GRAIN.
9: Adjust truss, intonate; assume whoever designed truss adjusting thing was on one of everything.
10: Play it (tomorrow).
So I did, and the video will be up in good time.
Couldn't help but have a look at how it was wired - treble rolloff with volume suggested 60s, and I was sorta right. It's a bit of a mish mash.
Alpha pots. Kinda cool I guess.
Also, check this shit out:
4 conductor!! Hiding!!
Means when I get bored I can whack in a push pull and there's parallel wiring
Also, lady single coil said it was nice.
Video coming soon.
