Grabbed this on TradeMe recently. 'Tis a Levinson LG-223, which seems to be the most affordable of the Levinson acoustics. Not much info about these online, so I'm not sure where these are made (though likely China with finish/setup done it Switzerland). Plays very nicely and seems very resonant (feels dumb to say — it's an acoustic — but the neck feels more lively in hand than most other acoustics I've picked up recently). All the usual suspects as far as materials go — solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides. Sounds nice and balanced, albeit a bit clangy with brand new strings. Seems to have a thin nitro finish so it should age nicely. I think it's a very pretty guitar; the headstock in particular is very nice, IMO.

Re: NGD: Levinson
unusual shape the front part of the body looks out of proportion to the larger back, its not grand concert shape seems even bigger in the bum end
really flat across the bottom

I think the pictures exaggerate the unusual proportions (the third picture in particular). I'm finding it very comfortable to play.kwhelan wrote:unusual shape the front part of the body looks out of proportion to the larger back, its not grand concert shape seems even bigger in the bum end

I agree with you, it’s a great looking guitar. I love those tuners too. The narrowed waist will make it a very comfy couch guitar I’d say. Congrats
