Re: Horror Stories
Yes yes good vibes trump horror stories 100:1
But embrace your inner negativity too. The spectrum of human affect is there for a reason. Some pretty nice sociological research to counter the ‘positivity’ craze of the last 30 yrs. a mild negative affect can make you more efficient, less prone to error and more likely to detect a problem or danger before it causes harm.
So let’s not derail this thread with calls for positivity for the sake of positivity, just embrace a few tales of woe as an important part of the human psyche and a the opportuniy for reflection and validation. Generally the most horrible experiences are those where the protagonists place too much value on perceived sincerity and good intention and leave skepticism and realism too late in the piece. Have a good day everyone and don’t forget to stay negative

Re: Horror Stories
Well put Strummers. Though there's a fine line between embracing negativity in a positive way and embracing it too much and letting it consume you until you become a whinge lord.
Good to find the balance

Re: Horror Stories
Interesting that W Nelson or his tech. use nylon ball-end strings, which in my experience are invariably of shite quality.
Is tying strings too challenging for country players? or maybe using crummy strings perfectly matches the state of the instrument.

Huh, that is weird. He plays pretty rough it seems, so it could just be a convenience thing for changing broken strings during shows.Ears wrote:Interesting that W Nelson or his tech. use nylon ball-end strings, which in my experience are invariably of shite quality.
