Re: Stratocaster or Telecaster preference
Always been a Strat guy despite owning a few Tele's over the years. I find the Strat a more comfortable instrument and tonally more forgiving; when I play a Tele I inevitably end up finding the Strattiest tone it can muster... which kinda defeats the point of playing one.
Plus with what I grew up as my major musical reference points, you never see many photos of Hendrix, SRV or Steve Rothery using a Tele (and now cue all of the photos of them playing one) ?!

Re: Stratocaster or Telecaster preference
I like Strats. More tonal variety and functionality. Never considered owning or playing a Tele, as I think they look like boat awes. I saw one the other day that looked cool though, a 73 Custom. Would like to play one eventually, and possibly even own, but they're way down my pecking order.

Tele Playing:kwhelan wrote:yes but strats would outnumber tele on favourite sounds recorded by a long shotGrantB wrote:Telecasters are simple devices with less "stuff" to interfere with the sound.
David Gilmour hendrix,SRV or Mark Knophler on a tele?
I love tele for sure but apart from country they are a minority in the modern recorded world, which is probably why hipsters are switching to them
David Gilmour. Run Like Hell
Mark Knopfler. Walk of Life
SRV. The House is Rockin.
Hendrix, I'll give you.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Stratocaster or Telecaster preference
You’re welcome. On the side...On JBs blow by blow done with Stratocaster and Telecaster. Not the Oxblood as pictured frontcover which I had thought for a while.jeremyb wrote:Thanks man it's hard to be this inept at playing and still make beautiful music.MrDINO wrote:I’ve always been fascinated with JBs playing technique.
