I top wrap my chibson. I'm not sure that I would if it was my only guitar, but as a second guitar it's darker and loose sounding and I like it a lot.

True. Used to do it when I first started playing. Then Rotosound brought out .007 gauge individual strings and we all jumped on those. Unsurprisingly they had a tendency to break rather easily.
