I've something rather special arriving tomorrow but for once thought I'm just not going to mention it. I'll just have to read the usual blah blah about how I'll have sold it next week etc. etc. Might be true but it doesn't stop it being tiresome.

WTF! Out of order. My kids know I buy and sell guitars and if they were maladjusted as a result then we'd need be concerned. But, of course, they're not. I recommend you save your private concern for the mountain of shit in your own back yard:

I think that most of us here appreciate the feedback that we get from Molly trying out all of the things that most of us can't afford. Keep up the good work

Re: Favourite Guitar Company
Personally, I feel that it's not one's money, and the guitars aren't taking up space in one's house... why should one care how many guitars some other guy has or what he does with them?
Whenever I get some first-time visitor to our house looking at my stuff and saying "Ehhh... how many guitars do you have?" I always reply "If they were powertools, you wouldn't say anything" and that shuts them up.
And it's true: some men buy themselves workshops full of stuff they never use, to build stuff they'll never start, and yet nobody ever takes them to task over it.

Molly, you've got a rep for your habits.... no denying that. Doubtful that there's anything more than some light ribbing going on here. I guess you have to be prepared for opinions that you may consider salty when you put it on an open forum I personally think its cool that you're in a position to be able to go for what you want.
Back to the OT.. I was a staunch Gibson guy for years, but now favour PRS... and generally, their SE range over anything fancy. Great looking, value for $ and decent resale, plus they all generally sound and play better they should at that price point.

Re: Favourite Guitar Company
It would be very hard to find better value than a PRS SE at second hand prices.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

I've never really liked any of the PRS necks I have played (both the pricey ones and the SE)

Mines great after I gave it the old wirewool scrub and now I can't believe its not buttah! Very 60's gibson style thickness though, no chunkiness to it.willow13 wrote:I've never really liked any of the PRS necks I have played (both the pricey ones and the SE)

I want to like PRS’s. They look the biz, they sound the biz. They just feel like North Korea to me.

Re: Favourite Guitar Company
Ibanez. Japanese rg's specifically. Body shape & contours feel like they were custom tailored for me. I'm very picky about which models I like as I'm not a fan of their thinnest necks. Best Floyd's out there according to me but also have a couple of fixed bridge models. Am capable of losing many hours when I pick one up. Feel very confident walking out onto stage with an rg, they've become so familiar to me now I know where every control & note is without even thinking about it. Have given most other brands a fair crack but always end up jamming an rg. An unpopular choice round these parts but it's just how it is! Ibanez rg for the win!!

Re: Favourite Guitar Company
best prs neck is the maple wide thin on an old CE
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.
